LegalWhat we know about you
Plainly, and in the order that matters: what we hold, who can see it, and the things we deliberately do not keep.

Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer
This describes accurately what the platform does with your information today, but it has not been checked against the Nigeria Data Protection Act by a qualified lawyer. It will be before we take live payments. If anything here matters to a decision you are making, ask us and we will answer in writing.
The short version
- ·We never store your NIN or BVN. It goes to the identity service, we keep the answer and a reference, and the number itself is discarded.
- ·We never see your card. Payment happens on the provider's own page. No card number ever reaches us.
- ·We never hold your money. A payment is split as it happens — the agent's share goes straight to their bank.
- ·Your messages are private by default. Staff can only open a conversation when something is wrong with it, and every time they do it is recorded with the reason.
What we hold
Everyone with an account:
- ·Your name, email address and — if you give one — your phone number.
- ·A profile photo, if you upload one. This is public: it appears to anyone who can see a listing you posted or a conversation you are in.
- ·What you save, what you search for, and which listings you have opened.
- ·Messages you send on the platform, and any that were blocked for containing contact details.
- ·Notifications we have sent you.
If you list properties:
- ·The result of your identity check — passed or failed, the provider, and their reference. Not the number itself.
- ·Your bank name, account name and account number, so your share of a deal can be paid to you.
- ·For an agency: your business name, CAC number, office address and director's name.
- ·Every listing you submit, including the exact address, which is never shown publicly.
If you pay for something:
- ·What you paid for, how much, when, and the payment provider's reference.
- ·For an accompanied inspection: a phone number our staff can reach you on, which the agent never receives.
The exact address
It is the piece of information this platform guards hardest, because an address plus a photograph of the gate is most of what somebody needs to run a property scam.
- ·It is never shown publicly. Listings display the area only.
- ·It is given to the one field worker sent to visit that property, for that visit.
- ·It is shown to our own desk staff, who need it to send somebody there.
- ·It is never given to another user, and never included in anything a browsing user can see.
Who can read your messages
Not everyone on our team, and not whenever they like. A conversation can only be opened by staff when something has gone wrong with it — a blocked message, a report on the listing, a dispute, or a suspended account. Every read is recorded against the staff member with the reason, and that record cannot be deleted.
We tell you this because it is true, and because the alternative — implying we read everything — would be a lie about how we handle your data on a product whose entire argument is that we are honest with you.
Who else gets your information
- ·The identity service (Dojah). Your NIN or BVN, to check it. They return a result; we keep that and discard the number.
- ·The payment provider (Paystack). Your email and the amount, so they can take a payment. They handle the card and the bank transfer; we never see either.
- ·Our hosting and database (Supabase, Vercel). They store the data on our behalf and do not use it for anything else.
- ·A field worker gets the exact address of the property they are visiting, and for an accompanied inspection, your first name and the phone number you gave us — so they can find you.
- ·An agent you message sees your first name and your profile photo. They do not get your surname, your email, or your phone number.
We do not sell your information to anybody, and we do not run advertising on it.
How long we keep it
While your account exists, and afterwards only where we have to. If you close your account we overwrite your name, email, phone, photo, bank details and identity reference, and remove your sign-in. What survives is the record of transactions you were part of — because the other party to a deal still needs their own proof of it, and because we are obliged to keep financial records.
What you can ask us to do
- ·See everything we hold about you.
- ·Correct anything that is wrong.
- ·Close your account and have your personal details erased, subject to the transaction records above.
- ·Ask us to explain any of this in plainer terms.
Message the team and a person will answer. We do not have a form for it because we would rather you just asked.
